in case I don't see ya

Dear reader,

We've been through a lot together but look at us still at the same URL address and still integrating the lastest technologies to our lessons.

In this class we laughed, we cried and we learned the key role of technology in English language teaching classrooms. Sometimes we rated our mood out of ten and sometimes we talked about theories that support the technology integration process. We formed groups and we formed technology-enhanced lesson plans and materials. If you haven't understand that from my blog yet, I can't be just normal because I have a need to perform and be funny all the time but lets unpack that another time.

This class teaches pre-service teachers about the whys and hows of technology integration,

Why should teachers keep up with new advancements in technology?

Why should we integrate technology to our classes?

How should we integrate technology to our classes?

(I'm going to use my biggest weapon and say) etc.

To answer all the questions I keep getting I think the strength of this course is how many examples you can get from each task. You see your own material or lesson plan and you see your classmates' too. The only weakness is you have to prepare a new class from zero every two weeks. I remember the times my group members' faces giving me war flashbacks.

The difficult side of this class was definitely the number of the assignments. Even though I knew how much I was learning with each one sometimes I couldn't give enough due to my other classes' requirements.

My least favorite task was the first one, Corpus. It was hard to figure out the group dynamics, it was harder to prepare a worksheet from scratch. But after the first one it all felt like I was touring the country for a play as an actor who isn't acting anymore but performing a routine.

And for the next year's students,

choose your group wisely

don't leave your assignment to the last minute

and read the whole instructions page.

This class plays a pivotal role because without it pre-service teachers cannot become the teacher they always wished they had. A teacher that understands their language and also speaks it (in a metaphorical way of course, make sure to use the target language in your classes).

So thank you to Dr. Mustafa Polat for being the light that guided us through this journey!

Have jolly molly new year since we I don't think anyone that celebrates Christmas reads my blog!

Aliye OUTT!
